Sorry to anyone wanting to read the Blog, whohas had to endure endless rubbish about mobile phones, cheap knock-off handbags or so called designer goods.....It seems that certain people in theFar East think that we can be bought, simply by them trying to add us onto their 'websites'. They are sending almost daily comments to us in the hope that these will end up on our Blog messages. Sorry Folks it ain't going to happen....For their benefit - I shall say this only once(! |

So, Here we are in 2013... It's certainly a long way from 1964 - 1967, but for a large number of us who remember those days, the year 2013 is a time to actually look forward.... Forward in fact to the year 2014....In March 2014, it will be 50 years since the start of UK based "Offshore Radio". For those of us who were there, it's certainly been a time of change. However one thing that, for me certainly, has not changed is the passion I feel for those "pirate" days. |

Some weeks ago, our office computer began to act quite irrationally. We put it down to being asked to do too much too quickly, but over the period of a few days, it went from being quite efficient to completely useless. The main hard-drive had given up, and we were very lucky that we didn't lose all the recorded material that we have on it for Pirate Memories. It was - according to our computer boffin, something of a close call! The moral of the story is: -BACK UPall your important information onto another hard drive. |

Recently, I came across someone offering a large proportion of their Pirate Radio collection "free to good home". Now, this is a person whom I've always held in high regard, and I even have a copy of the chap's book, which I've read on several occasions. I consider him to be quite emminent in his field, and when I wrote to him, I explained what 'Pirate Memories' is all about. I should add at this stage that the fellow had placed certain restrictions on giving away his collection, most noteably, that the material should not be used in any way "for profit". |

Today we went on E-Bay and bid on two rather nice Radio London "Car Pennants" - Back in the 60's, it was common to adorn vehicles with little triangular flags which slipped over the radio aerial. The Radio London car pennants were produced for just this purpose.... We have only ever seen pictures of these, so to find a seller who was offering two was quite a talking point.... The bids had sat there all week at £14.99, and went up to a staggering £77 in the last 7 seconds - pipping us but £2 ! |

We've now got the Radio Caroline car bumper badge - You can see this in the Flashback '67 section. We're now on the lookout for a "Radio London"version...We know these were produced, as there was one on E-Bay last year, but the bidding was quite intense, and we missed out.....If you happen to own one of these badges or know someone who has one - perhaps you might contact us - It would look really good alongside the Caroline Club bumper badge! We're still tweaking the website, and will be adding more new content very soon, so please keep coming back for a look around. |

We've just secured a metal Radio Caroline Club car badge from around 1966. These were produced for club members to attach to the bumpers of their cars. This was of course in the days when cars actually had metal bumper bars !! - As soon as we get it - we'll post some pics. Also coming soon in the "Collectables" section - some pics of a couple of games which were produced in the early 70's dedicated to "Pirate Radio"...These are a little like 'Monopoly', and could be played with up to 6 people. |
